Our modern facilities provide the foundations of our research, education and enterprise activities. The main instruments available in our laboratory are
- Potensiostat/Galvanostat instrument (PGSTAT 302 Metrohm). The modul included in the instrument are linear polarization, cyclic voltametry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) analysis, and LED driver for dyes-sensitized solar cell studies. The applications are for measurements and characterization of corrosion, reactions in electrochemical cell, proton exchange membrane characterization, batteries, etc.
- 8 Channel Battery Analyzer (BST8-MA, MTI Corporation, US). This is an eight-channel battery analyzer to analyze small coin cells and cylindrical batteries from 0.1 mA to 10 mA, up to 5V. Each channel of the analyzer has independent constant-current and constant-voltage source, which can be programmed and controlled by computer software. This system provides most applications in battery testing fields such as electrode materials research, battery performance test, small-scale battery formation, capability grading, battery pack testing, etc.
- Gas adsorpstion analyser (Nova 1200, Quantacrhome). It can be used to measure BET specific surface area of solids, pore size distribution and pore volume of porous materials.
We also have access to other modern instruments in our department to support our activities such as thermal gravimetry/differential thermal analyzer (TG/DTA) (Shimadzu), Gas Chromatography, etc.
In addition, our university also provides modern research facilities and characterization instruments that can be accessed by staffs and students to allow them to develop and test their pioneering ideas. They include scanning electron microscope (SEM), atomic force microscope (AFM), X-Ray diffraction (XRD), etc.
