2012 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 4,400 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 7 years to get that many views.

Student exchange to Kumamoto University

One of our master students (Rizka Zulhijjah) just came back from Japan after completing her short-term student exchange program at Kumamoto University sponsored by JASSO. She studied in Japan for about 6 months from October 2011 to March 2012 under the supervision of Prof. Motonobu Goto (Dept. Applied Chemistry).

Rizka Zulhijjah

In Kumamoto University, she conducted research on passivation of steel by forming iron oxide coating (preferable Fe3O4) on steel surface using electrolysis-hydrothermal method. She presented her results on the annual meeting of the Society of Chemical Engineers Japan on March 2012 in Tokyo.

The experience is very useful for her, not only about doing research, but also about culture, behavior, discipline, work hard, etc. The program can also make the relationship between ITS and Kumamoto University that has been established become better and has benefit for both sides.
