Our students project “Multi-functional aerogel cellulose superabsorbent based on waste paper” submitted for Green Wave Environmental Care Competition 2015 has been shortlisted for a second and final round of assessment. Only a total of 10 projects have been shortlisted. The presentation and Q&A session will be held on 29 October 2015 in Sembmarine Admiralty Yard, Singapore. In this session, one member of the team is expected to present on the project, explain the prototype and demonstrate how the prototype works. The team of our students consists of 6 members: Bhisma Anugerah, Sam Matahari, Jannatun Dewi, Emelia Tri Ambarwati, Heni Silvana and Mutia Novianti.
The main objective of this competition is to inculcate awareness and motivate students to gain a sense of personal and group responsibility for their own environment and in the process, learn how to reason, think critically and act to protect it in a balanced way. The project also hopes to promote innovating thinking among students, encouraging them to develop new ideas, processes and equipment for the betterment of our environment. (hs)
